Get to Know Me
Ever since I was young, I knew I wanted to get into a career path that would make a difference in people’s lives. This interest led me to study psychology. Prior to completing my Masters degree, I worked as a Registered Counsellor and found my love for career counselling.
I gravitate toward positive psychology interventions such as Solution-Focused Therapy and Narrative Therapy. I view the counselling relationship as a partnership where two people work towards a goal. I believe that people already have the strengths and gifts to navigate challenges in life but may just need someone to walk with them on their journey to self-discovery and growth.
I predominantly work within the Transactional Analysis framework which focuses on past and present relationship dynamics where the impact of past wounds creates challenges within us and as a result, impacts our relationships with others. My research and special interest lies in forgiveness and self-forgiveness.
I truly care for all of my clients, and work diligently to help find them the answers they seek. Since 2016, I have worked with a variety of clients dealing with circumstances that are unique to their lives.
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) as skills-based approaches. I have experience facilitating skills-based groups and DBT groups. I thoroughly enjoy group therapy interventions as I believe that growth and insight is maximized in groups. We can learn so much from one another and I am looking forward to learning from you!
